The Springfield-Greene County Park Board is seeking a dynamic individual to manage their Community Athletics section. The Community Athletics section offer a variety of programs to the community including: youth and adult softball, youth and adult flag football, adult volleyball, youth baseball, virtual race series, pickleball, and a host of tournaments and events. The Coordinator should have an approachable management style which includes supervising, motivating, and developing a team of staff members and service contractors and collaborating with community partners to provide athletic activities, camps, leagues, tournaments, and supporting recreational opportunities. This position will be responsible for planning, assigning and directing programs; scheduling and managing facility activities and rentals; recruitment of sports tourism groups, appraising performance, and creating individual and team goals. To be successful, the Coordinator will develop and communicate a vision, management philosophy, sound business strategy; and deliver both operationally and fiscally. This position is charged with implementing procedures and strategic benchmarks which will help the organization make its short and long-term objectives a reality. The position will office at The Killian Sports Complex and will oversee programs there and at Meador Sports Complex, Cooper Sports Complex, Ewing Sports Complex, and O’Reilly-Teft Gymnasium.

Typically requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Business Management, Environmental/Conservation Education, Agriculture or a related field depending on assignment;
AND
Two years of experience in developing and supervising recreational community center programs, community parks and naturalist programs, tennis centers, school-park programs, sports programs, skateparks or related experience depending upon assignment.
Directly related experience in developing and supervising in related program areas may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
