We’re looking for an energetic and collaborative communications professional to join the NREL Corporate Communications Office. The successful candidate will be adept at a variety of communications and have experience with project management and hosting high-level visitors. This position requires excellent presentation and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects/visits simultaneously.
In this position you will collaborate with individuals across the laboratory to plan tour logistics, schedule subject matter experts for technical tours, and coordinate details such as reserving rooms, arranging catering and transportation, and creating agendas. You will serve as a campus expert to guide tours and work closely with other subject matter experts to involve their participation when needed and to develop talking points for tour stops.
We’re looking for a self-motivated individual with a passion for scientific research who enjoys interacting with people and overseeing details and deadlines with limited supervision.
Duties will include:
Sharing NREL’s story with visitors and the community at large
Logistical support and planning for VIP and protocol level tours and visits, and events
Supporting online virtual offerings and being comfortable with online platforms
Maintaining brand-consistent messaging along campus tour routes
Building and maintaining positive relationships with the public as well as internal stakeholders.

Relevant Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Master's Degree or equivalent relevant education/experience. General knowledge and application of technical standards, principles, theories and techniques. Frequent application of industry concepts and principles. General knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to specific field. Skilled in problem solving, written and verbal communication. Ability to use various computer software programs.
