This position is responsible for managing all duties of Visit Sarasota County's (VSC) sports tourism strategy.  Position is responsible for recruiting sports events and training to Sarasota, expanding existing events and creating new event opportunities for the benefit of Sarasota County.  This position closely coordinates with the VSC sales and brand teams on leisure sports marketing and sports-related meetings.  This employee serves at-will and the position is non-exempt.

VSC is a work from home workplace with the understanding that the employee lives in the general Sarasota County region and that employees do check into the office during each pay period.

Strong English written and verbal communication skills, preferred experience in travel professions and sports events, strong computer skills and Microsoft Office applications, must have own transportation to attend meetings and events in Sarasota County, must have the ability to work on weekends and evenings, must be able to obtain a valid Florida drivers license within 30 days of employment and have the ability to travel out of the area for overnight stays.
