The Director, Partnership and Destination Services is responsible for the leadership, development and execution of Visit Seattle’s partnership program, all sponsorships, and visitor services activities, including the management of two visitor centers (with a third opening in January 2023).
As a partner-based organization, Visit Seattle connects more than 700 local businesses and their products and services with the lucrative visitor market. Through engagement of new and existing partners and sponsors, the Director achieves annual revenue goals, consistently advocates the positive impact of travel and tourism to partner businesses and our community, and commonly serves as a primary contact at Visit Seattle.
What you’ll do:
Partnership:
- Develop and implement partnership strategies to achieve established revenue goals on an annual basis and to maximize engagement of Visit Seattle partners.
- Presents Visit Seattle’s vision and objectives to various stakeholders in the community.
- Prepare and give partnership sales presentations to individuals and groups.
- Active in appropriate B2B, community organizations to foster partnership sales and retention.
- Provide innovative and creative direction on all partnership events and networking functions.
- Review and recommend change to partnership fees, services and benefits on an annual basis.
- Supervises all aspects of the department including the hiring and management of internal staff to support partnership and destination services objectives.
Sponsorship:
- Develop and sell sponsorship opportunities to achieve financial and organizational goals, ensuring high-level collaboration across the organization relative to sellable assets and execution.
- On an ongoing basis, assess local and industry sponsorship climate. Develop a formal position on Visit Seattle’s opportunity relative to sponsorship revenues and maintain an active sponsorship pipeline.
- Proactively manage the execution of all sponsorships to exceed expectations of the sponsor and to help increase the likelihood of renewal and increased future investment.
Visitor Centers:
- Work collaboratively with Manager, Visitor Centers to manage Visit Center locations at Pike Place Market (Market Information Center) and Arch at 705 Pike (Visitor Information Center).
- Ensure Visit Seattle’s brand is appropriately positioned, visitors are serviced at a high-level, and budget/infrastructure needs are considered and addressed.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve established Visitor Center revenue goals on an annual basis and to maximize engagement of Visit Seattle partners.
- Proactively plan for the opening of a new Visitor Center location in the Summit building at Seattle Convention Center (slated to open in January 2023).

Who you are:
- Minimum five years sales and marketing experience required with a proven track record of achieving sales goals.
- Intimate knowledge of Seattle and an ability to sell and promote the region to all audiences.
- Proven ability to work cohesively with executive leadership audience, both internally and externally.
- Hospitality/tourism industry experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience in Simpleview ideal.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including proficiency in public speaking.
- Detail oriented with an ability to see projects through from inception to execution.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong administrative and supervisory skills.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language, English, used in the workplace.
