The Events Management and Operations Supervisor will assist in the creation and promotion of positive community engagement special events and experiences in Chesterfield County and will work cross-departmentally between Parks & Recreation and Sports, Visitation & Entertainment to support events that showcase Chesterfield County as a great place to live, work, play, and stay.  

The position is responsible for determining the organization, staffing, and operational activities and adhering to the set-forth budget for a comprehensive portfolio of county-owned events. This position will serve as a resource hub for public event needs as requested.
The position will provide work direction and supervision for the Special Event Coordinator and other staff positions.

As a high-level representative for the county, the Events Management and Operations Supervisor will liaison with community partners, sponsors, businesses, event planners, and resident organizations to foster positive relationships. Perform other work as required.

Monday - Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; includes some nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

About Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation

The Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department offers many opportunities for residents to engage in recreation and outdoor pursuits. The county is home to many parks and athletic complexes, where sports tournaments and athletic events are hosted. In addition, the parks system maintains 21 historic sites, an extensive trail system and five conservation areas: Brown and Williamson, Dutch Gap, Radcliffe, Swift Creek and James River.
